I love CrossFit, but I'm feeling burned out. What should I do?

Burnout is that tired/bored/"I'm in a rut" kind of feeling; chances are you or someone you know has experienced this before.  In CrossFit, we sometimes see people who were crushing it for the first couple months/years, but now for some reason they just aren't having as much fun as they used to. They feel tired,  bored, or generally not their normal selves.

Guys, we love when you show up at CrossFit Pushin Weight every single day with steadfast dedication to the program, but think about it: if you DO anything with your fitness outside the walls of the gym, what's the point? The CrossFit training methodology was designed as a fitness program to make you feel better in your activities outside the gym. So order to truly reap the benefits, you need to get out and USE your fitness.

If CrossFit is the only fitness activity that you're doing and you're getting bored, make some adjustments. Go on a backpacking trip! Sign up for a martial arts class! Walk the dog! Run a 5k! Run after your kids at the park! Take a yoga class! Sign up for a volleyball team! Join a master's swim club! Rent kayaks! Take up a new sport!

CrossFit is supposed to make you better at the things you love, not replace them. Here are some other things you can try:

-Come to a different class time.
Each class and coach has a different vibe. Mix it up with some new folks!

All classes have a different friendly group of people. Savannah, Meghan, and Dan would love to work out with you!

-Reconnect with sports you love
Try getting back into some sports you did prior to CrossFit

-Try a totally new sport or fitness activity.
Notice how CrossFit helps you in that activity.

Ashley enjoyed learning about steel clubs and mace so much that she ended up getting a certification in them.

-Sign up for something
A Spartan Race, an Olympic lifting meet, a figure competition.... often having a goal and a purpose behind your training will give you a renewed sense of excitement and motivation
**Perfect opportunity: Join our team for the Rugged Maniac 5k in May. We are going to have a blast! No previous running experience required. ***

Emine, Taylor, and Fem were just a few of our members who did a competition in November. It was a blast!

-Get outside more.
Our new gym does have awesome windows, but sunshine on your skin is important for your physical and mental health. Think about ways you can be active outdoors.
