Hi everyone, Coach Fem here. I am so excited to share that we are starting a CrossFit Kids class at CrossFit Pushin Weight!
I earned my CrossFit Kids coaching certification last weekend in North Carolina. It was so much fun! We learned about kids psychology, growth and development, and how to teach kids safe movement patterns through games and play (so they hardly even know they are learning). CrossFit Kids is all about having fun, being active, and fostering a love of fitness.
I've coached quite a few kiddos over the past 4 and half years in Western NY before moving to Virginia: at CrossFit Rochester, VooDoo Fitness, and through the Victor Central School System. I've worked with kids ages 4-18, special needs kids, and middle school and high school athletes. I love being a healthy & strong role model, because I remember how critical that was when I was younger!
At CrossFit Pushin Weight Kids, we will focus on the squat, deadlift, and overhead press. We will also cover the basics of healthy nutrition, hydration, rest, and positive body image. We'll be jumping, running, crawling, swinging, rolling, handstand-ing, pushing, pulling, throwing, balancing. . . . you name it. (Your kids will be tired.)
Our first session will start this summer, and will run for 6 weeks. Tuesdays and Thursdays
June 20-July 27
Ages 5-8: 3:30-4pm
