    For me, a totally life-altering experience… in a very positive way! I had never done anything like this before, and I was very intimidated at the idea of 1. Starting it, and 2. Sticking with it. For whatever reason, those fears melted away at the very beginning of my adventure that started in October 2014. The camaraderie and positive reinforcement I get from everyone here combined with my dramatically improved medical and mental state, along with seeing that 50 lb lighter stranger in my mirror with actual muscles, all combine to motivate this old guy to keep at it. I’m a walkin’ miracle thanks to Tyler and all of you!!

    I started the sport of CrossFit in February of 2012 and have been a member of the CFPW8 family since 2013. I did my research on several CrossFit gyms in the Richmond/Midlothian area before moving here from the west coast, but CFPW8 stood out to me on several different levels. I did a few trial classes and really liked the well-balanced programming, the amazingly knowledgeable coaches and the family-like community they fostered.
    The dedication of the coaches truly shows they care about the growth of their members and help them in reaching their personal fitness and health goals.

    I really enjoy that I have my individual goals supported. While I have been a part of the regular classes for years, I have been taking on extra work to support my goals as a competitive CrossFit athlete. I am supported by the coaches and the gym in various ways to be able to help get better at being stronger and more competitive.

    My teenage daughter is also a member and has seen huge improvements both in and outside of the gym. The coaches and community at CFPW8 not only helped my daughter ‘come out of her shell’ after moving to a new state, but CrossFit has also made it possible for her to excel in high school athletics.

    I have been a member of CrossFit Pushin Weight since September 2013. I am 56 years old and have tried several different exercise regimens, none of which held my interest for very long. What I love about this particular gym is that each day is a new challenge, be it the workout, working together as a group and helping each other, and always learning something new. The coaches emphasize learning the correct way to perform moves to avoid injury and pushing us to try things (or heavier weights) we never thought we could do, as well as throwing a little humor in here and there. I love all the different personalities and the sense of humor that flows through this gym. I have pushed myself to limits that I never thought I had. I am in the best physical shape of my life and I have Crossfit Pushin W8 to thank! Not a day goes by that I don’t learn something new or have room to improve on something.

    I started CrossFit at Pushin Weight a little over two years ago. I have always played sports and started weight training in high school but the only thing I knew about CrossFit was what I saw on ESPN. Like many people I was intimidated by what I thought CrossFit would be like. What I have found here is a family, not a gym. A group of people that support and push each other no matter what your skill level is. The coaches here will make sure you have a strong foundation and then help you push yourself to be better than you were the day before. The experience you have here will be challenging, exciting, punishing, and rewarding. If you are looking for a place to mentally and physically better yourself this is it.
