Guardian Games

Mark your calendars: we are hosting our first charity competition in our new space on Saturday, June 17!

The Guardian Games is a charity competition: all the proceeds will go to the Police Benevolent Foundation.

The Police Benevolent Foundation is a nonprofit that supports families of police officers killed in the line of duty. They also fund scholarships for children of police officers, and educate law enforcement officers and their families about PTSD and suicide prevention.

We want to have as many of our members competing as possible, to push each other and  support this amazing charity.  Are you trying to decide between competing and volunteering? Our answer: compete! Bonus: if you have never competed before, this is a perfect opportunity for your first time. You’ll be in a familiar space surrounded by familiar people.

The competition is two-person same-gender teams only. There are Rx and scaled divisions:
Male/Male Rx
Male/Male Scaled
Female/Female Rx
Female/Female Scaled

If you don’t want to compete, we’d love to have you as a volunteer.

Click HERE to register  as a competitor or volunteer on the Guardian Games Website. Early Bird registration saves you $30 per team and ends on May 20. Remember, your registration fee is tax-deductible.

The workouts won’t be released until a few days before the event, so if you’re wondering if you should go Rx or scaled, think about the WODs at CrossFit Pushin Weight. Do you usually go Rx? Here are some movements & weights from some past Guardian Games to give you an idea (if you’re still unsure, ask Tyler for advice):

Men’s Rx:
Snatch 135
Clean and Jerk 135
Deadlift 185
Front-rack lunge 135
Chest-to bar pull-ups
KB Snatch 55

Women’s Rx:
Snatch 95
Clean and jerk 95
Deadlift 125
Front rack lunge 95
Chest-to bar pull-ups
KB snatch 35

This event is open to the public and we welcome spectators! (We will take donations at the door.) Team check-in will most likely be at 8am, and heats will mostly likely start at 9am. We will make sure to update you with more information as we get it.

Please tell all your friends to come out and support this awesome charity, hang out in our new gym, and partake in a great day of competition. (Click HERE to go to the Guardian Games website)
